At a legal meeting of the inhabitants of the town of Boston on Thursday the 4th day of May 1780 ...

Manuscript copy of a vote taken in a Boston town meeting to recommend that all inhabitants of Boston attend the next town meeting to discuss the establishment of a Constitution of Civil Government for the state of Massachusetts, and further, that local ministers encourage their congregations to attend. This copy includes the cover letter to a minister written and signed by William Cooper, town clerk.
